Events & Social

Throughout the year, the Broadmoor Curling Club (BCC) holds various events for members and those interested in the sport of curling.  

  • Learn to Curl Clinics - provide an opportunity for the general public to learn the basic skills of the game in addition to scoring and basic strategy.  You'll have a chance to play a game. Come out and join us!  Learn why Curling is the fastest growing sport in the USA.  For session dates go to the Home page. 
  • Leagues - Summer League will begin in May/June timeframe and will run for 4-6 weeks. Once finalized details will be under the Events link. 
  • Bonspiel - The 5th Annual High Altitude Bonspiel was held April 16-18 at the World Arena in Colorado Springs.  Thie event attracted teams from across the US and the emphasis is on fun! Next years bonspiel is in the planning stages.
  • Corporate Events - the BCC provides an opportunity for corporations to host Team Building Events.
  • Winter Sports Clinic - Members of the BCC join the Veterans Administration in Aspen/Snowmass to provide curling clinics to disabled veterans each year in the late March early April timeframe. 
  • Our End of Season Party and General Meeting is open to the public.  Come and find out all we did this year and our plans for next year!

    Come Join Us and Learn to Curl!

    The Broadmoor Curling Club is pleased to announce a Learn to Curl clinic.  Each clinic will offer 2 levels of instruction, choose your preference:

    Beginner Clinic: For those that have never tried curling or haven't curled in many years and want to get all the basics and have fun doing it! Curling is a great family sport and creates an atmosphere of sportsmanship and friendly competition. Regardless of your age, come give curling a try and find out why curling is the fastest growing winter sport for folks from 8 to 80. Bring some friends, have a great time and give curling a try! 

    We provide all equipment we just ask that you dress in warm, loose comfortable clothing.  The arena is very cold, so bring gloves and a warm jacket or sweatshirt.  We do not recommend tight jeans.  You will also need to wear clean athletic shoes.
     
    Intermediate Clinic: For those that have previously attended a Learn to Curl clinic and/or have recent curling experience.  We will work on fine tuning delivery and sweeping techniques as well as instruction on strategy, rules and etiquette of the game!

    The Broadmoor Curling Club Board
    meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month
    at the Olympic Training Center in the Board Room.  
    Please note this meeting will be at 7PM as we are unable to move the time up. 
     
    It is very important to have a quorum at this meeting,
    so please remember to attend.  If you are unable to attend please let Kathy know.

    If you have a report for the Board, please email it to President Kathy Avery
    so that it may be made a part of the agenda which is emailed to board members before the meetings.
